The Roots & John Varvatos

Menswear designer John Varvatos (fans include Common, Zac Efron and NBA star Chris Bosh) has chosen super cool group The Roots to front its Fall advertising campaign.

“I’ve been a huge fan of The Roots for years,” said Varvatos of the Philly based band that have won four Grammy’s for their jazz-influenced approach to hip-hop. “They are one of the most innovative musical forces on the planet.”

We're sure it doesn't hurt that stylistically they already look great!

A bonus from the Fall campaign was an impromptu jam on the tarmac that was captured with one camera and in one take which will be featured on the John Varvatos website from tomorrow. Looks like the relationship between fashion and music, which we highlighted in this post, continues to get stronger.

Liberals Hatred Toward Black Conservatives Continues

Liberals hate Black Conservatives because they prefer to keep Blacks mentally enslaved and beholden uponthem.

I’ve frequently made this charge on this blog and for most of my adult life and there hasn’t been any Liberal Balck or White who cannot honestly prove me wrong.

As a Conservative of color myself, I shunned the “socialization” of how I was supposed to think years ago. But, for many others, the cost to pay in ridicule by fellow Blacks or people of color is too high.

So they stay “in the plantation of the mind” too afraid to think outside the box that was designed, built, and enforced by White Liberals—all in the name of caring for Blacks.

So to keep Blacks voting 95% Democrat, White Liberals have to remind the “mentally enslaved who your Friends, and who are your enemies.

Slate's The Root -- the portion of the website where they cordon off their African-American content -- has compiled a list of "Black folks we'd like to remove from black history." Some of the choices are funny (Dennis Rodman) some are head-scratching (the doctor who prescribed Michael Jackson his meds?) while others are downright offensive. The continuous pathology in the liberal black community to denigrate black conservatives as "not really black" continues apace here: Clarence Thomas, Michael Steele, and Alan Keyes are listed alongside Idi Amin, Papa and Baby Doc Duvalier, and Robert Mugabe.

Liberals Find Racism in NBC Cafeteria

I really feel bad for Lisa Calhoun, a cook, at the NBC cafeteria here in New York City, who thought it was good idea to serve “traditional” African American cuisine in honor of Black History month.

Her intentions were a sincere and heartfelt attempt to celebrate Black culture and what better place than New York, one of the bluest states in the country, right?

Wrong!

What Calhoun didn’t know is that somebody snapped a picture of this menu that was displayed in the cafeteria.

What’s wrong with Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, and Black Eyed Peas? Back in the day this used to be called “soul food” and it didn’t seem to bother anybody then.

I’m Puerto Rican and I love this food. I wish they had Macaroni and Cheese on the menu.

But, Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, the drummer for Jimmy Fallon's "Late Night" show band, The Roots, shot a photo of the menu and posted it on Twitter.

All hell broke loose after that.

Calhoun said in the New York Post:

"Questlove, who I serve every day and who enjoys my food, requested the neck bone [cooked in] the black-eyed peas and fried chicken, then got off the line, saying, 'This is racist,' " she said.

"The next thing you know, people were taking pictures of the sign and asking all the other black people in the cafeteria if this was racist. They said that it wasn't."

This is the ridiculousness of the Liberal mentality to find perceived racism everywhere, even in food that’s as much a part of Southern cuisine in general and eaten by White people than it is African American faire in particular.

But once the “racist” bomb goes off all sense of common sense goes right out the window.

However, the crux of this matter is not really genuine racism at all but really “white guilt” that Liberals can’t seem to shake. They feel it’s their duty to wipe away any and all perception of racism they see, even if they see it in a can of tuna with bacon bits.

Unfortunately, Calhoun, an African American woman, is suffering injury today by the very people who think they’re doing her and other like her a social justice.

Gee, thanks for nothing,, Liberals!
