At 11:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm "KABAYAN" has maintained its strength and continues to move North Northwest.
Tropical Storm "Kabayan" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 11,140 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.3°N, 134.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph.
According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the western sections of Luzon and Visayas will experience monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms,” it said. On Wednesday morning, "Kabayan" is expected to be at 990 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes and on Thursday morning, the tropical storm will be at 785 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes or 170 km Southeast of Okinawa, Japan.

No storm warning signal raised.
This weather disturbance is too far to directly affect any part of the country.
Expected to enhance the southwest monsoon over Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 15-30 mm per hour within the 700 km diameter of the typhoon.
