H&M: Fashion Against AIDS

Swedish retailers H&M are launching a collection in aid of Fashion Against AIDS – a campaign designed to raise both funds and awareness of HIV/AIDS.

Ninette Murk, Founder and Creative director at Designers Against AIDS says: ‘HIV is everywhere, not just in Africa, not just in the gay community – HIV concerns us all. If you’re old enough and wise enough to make love, you’re also old and wise enough to take care.’

The sporty unisex collection will be available in H&M’s Divided department from today and 25% of sales will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS projects around the world.

Celebrity supporters include Keri Hilson, Akon, Sky Ferreira, Ginnifer Goodwin and Penn Badgely. Akon said: “I’ve had a lot of friends who’ve been in the situation where their friends and family have been affected by HIV. As I travel the world, I see how much HIV affects people. It’s not like we have a cure for HIV, we only have prevention. Make sure you are protected so that you don’t ever have to worry about it. Ever.”

It might feel like another day, another celebrity adds their name to a charitable inititave but H&M recognise that having a celebrity on board helps spread the message about HIV/AIDS prevention through their presence on Twitter, Facebook, their own websites and at their concerts.

Sleeveless Leather Jacket. Mens and Womens £79.99

Mens and Womens chinos. £29.99
