Cory Aquino Wake and Memorial Service Schedules

The Aquinos, through their spokesperson Deedee Siytangco, announces their decision of having a private funeral for the late President Cory Aquino instead of a state funeral (under law, all Presidents were entitled to a state funeral but still subject to the family's approval).

"For all intentions and purposes, she had been a private citizen after stepping down, and siguro, to a degree we would like to spend as much time as possible as a family with her." explained Senator Noynoy Aquino of their decision.

Aquino, however, said that there will still be honor guards at the wake, as per tradition in wakes for former government officials.

The Aquinos also announces President Cory's wake and memorial services schedule as listed below:
  • : President Cory's body will lie in state at the La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) gymnasium.
  • : The wake will be open to the public (Gate 5 entrance for public and Gate 2 for media) from 5 p.m. on Saturday and will continue until Monday. The daily viewing schedule will be until 4 a.m., and will then resume on 7 a.m.
  • : A mass at the LSGH will be held at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 1.
  • : Daily Catholic masses daily at 12nn and 8 p.m. at LSGH and Manila Cathedral.
  • : "Dedication Garden for Tita Cory" at the Sacred Ground of EDSA Shrine (where supporters can put flowers, prayers, candles and notes to Cory).
  • : President Cory's remain will be transferred from LSGH to Manila Cathedral on August 3 at 11am.
  • : Chronological service will be held at the Manila Cathedral on August 4.
  • : Necrological and vigil service is on August 4 from 4 a.m. until 6 a.m. at the Manila Cathedral.
  • : On Wednesday, President Cory will be buried at the Manila Memorial Park after a 9 a.m. mass at the cathedral. She will be buried beside her late husband, Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo also declared a 10-day period of national mourning for the lost of Philippine much admired former President Cory Aquino.

Senator Noynoy Aquino Tells About Cory's Remaining Days in the Hospital

Former President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, 76, has passed away of cardio-respiratory arrest at exactly 3:18 a.m. Saturday at the Makati Medical Center.

At about 5 a.m. outside the hospital, Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III read a statement announcing the death of his mother.

The statement read:

"Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m., August 1, 2009, of cardio-respiratory arrest.

"She would have wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers and your continued love and support. It was her wish for all of us to pray for one another and for our country.

"Hinihiling po ng aming pamilya ang kaunting panahon para makasama namin ang aming mahal na ina."

At a press conference held this morning at the Ramon Cojuangco Building in Makati, Senator Noynoy speaks about the remaining days of her mother, late President Corazon Aquino, at the Makati Medical Center.

He told the press how unselfish her mother would be to still think of others while suffering from pain, "Yung touching dun sa akin yung sa ICU first time kong nakatokang magbantay. Imbes na matanong ko kung kumusta ka, ang tinanong sa akin kung kumain na ako at yung mga kasamahan ko. Other times naman nagbabasa ako ng dyaryo, tinanong nya kung ano laman dyan. Di ba pag ikaw ang maysakit eh natural yung 'ang sama naman ng pakiramdam ko', pero sya laging yung iba ang nasa isip."

Watch the video below:

Popular TV host Boy Abunda, a close friend of the Aquino family, told reporters on Saturday that the Aquinos were praying the Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary when Cory gave her last deep breath.

Abunda said all five children of Mrs. Aquino, and her close friends and relatives were at her bedside when the former leader passed away.

After that last breath, Abunda said, Mrs. Aquino's children quietly cried.

"Malungkot. Tahimik na nag-iiyakan. Tahimik, except for Kris who was very quiet," he said, referring to the youngest daughter of Mrs. Aquino.

"Kris was very quiet. She was displaying such courage pero noong dinadala palabas mga labi ni Tita Cory... because you have to remember that Kris was in the hospital, Kris was by the side of her mother since July 20 hanggang sa mga oras na yun. Hanggang ngayon si Kris ay nasa tabi ng kanyang ina." Abunda said.

He also said that Fr. Catalino Arevalo, who is a very close friend of the former leader and had been officiating a mass for her at the hospital, officiated a mass right after Mrs. Aquino's death.

Former Philippine President Corazon Aquino Dies

Former Philippine President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino passed away at exactly 3:18 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at the Makati Medical Center in Manila after battling colon cancer for more than a year. She was 76.

Once a reluctant housewife, Aquino was known as an icon of Philippine democracy after the EDSA 'People Power' revolution removed the Marcos dictatorship and restored democracy in the Southeast Asian archipelago in 1986.

Aquino served as the nation's president until 1992 when she gave way to her successor, President Fidel Ramos.

But in March 2008, Cory Aquino has been diagnosed with colon cancer and has been going in and out of the hospital since then for chemotherapy. Last May, she underwent surgery to remove parts of her colon and was brought to the Makati Medical Center in June due to loss of appetite.

Last Monday, the Aquino family said Mrs. Aquino's condition had turned to "guarded" due to her fluctuating blood pressure.

Her son, Senator Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino III, confirmed that the former leader's cancer had already spread to her liver.

"Her weakened condition does not allow chemotherapy. We have reached the point where you're not sure if the intervention will help or worsen the condition," he told reporters.

Last week, her supporters tied yellow ribbons along Times St. and Examiner St. in Quezon City near Mrs. Aquino's residence, and also outside the Makati Medical Center, symbolizing hope and prayers for her recovery and as a show of support for Philippine democracy.

May Your Soul Rest in Peace, President Cory.

Diversity

Good Afternoon,

Don't ya'll love DIVERSITY! I think it’s the best.

I just finished walking the streets by my lonesome. The rain smells so good. I skipped here, jumped over a puddle there, made a huge splash over here, and moseyed on down the block to my good ol' Subway for lunch!

As I returned from my adventure, I waited in the corridor for an available elevator. One passed. . . OOOH, no too crowded. A second passed . . . B, don't try that one, that joker will trap you in.

Ding, a third one arrived. . . Awww yes, my empty, silent oasis, to take me up the heavens to the 22nd floor.

Then just as I enter, another passenger decides to jump aboard my personal carrier.

BRAHNT, BRAHNT. . . Oh my, hi Mr. Huynh. . He's my lil Asian man that works on the 20th floor in the Office of Hearings and Appeals. (Ques. - why he always sweating)?

OOOH, Brahnt I see u gin'. I said yeah, it's been a while. You don't work. You be off-e, huh. Ummm, no I'm here 7 days a week including holidays.

HOLIDAY, OH NO - You like job too much. No, I was just kidding. LITERALLY!

OOOOOOOH, BRAHNT U FUNNY. U jokey huh!

(No you funny, because literally why are you talking so loud, like u got an IPod on, and can't hear!)

Huh, you say somethin' BRAHNT. . . OH no, just talking to myself!

OOOH, Brahnt, it's hot like fire in here, huh. . . No I'm pretty cool.

OKAY, BYE BRAHNT- SEE YOU WEEK, NEXT.

WHY, I had a Scooby-doo moment "Ruh-roo". Oh, you mean next week. Okay bye!

So any stans that visit here just know that you are delusional. Dont get me wrong, I am not talking about the fans cos I am also a Beyonce fan...but I aint no stan. My eyes are wide open to her lies and naiveity.

Solange is my rock "Beyonce"

BEYONCE turns to her sister SOLANGE KNOWLES for advice, because she's had so much more "life experience" than the R&B superstar. The singer's younger sibling wed her high school sweetheart and had a baby by the age of 18. She has since gone through a divorce. The Crazy In Love hitmaker, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, admits she turns to 23-year-old Solange to help her through her own personal problems because she's so much more knowledgeable. Beyonce says, "She gives me a lot of advice because she's had some life experiences that I've never had." Last week, Solange shaved her hair off as part of a protest against interviewers who constantly ask her about her famous sister.

hahahaha Solange did it in protest against interviewers now lol sorry but that made me laugh.

Well whatever, nice to see that Beyonce looks up to her sister even though Solange doesnt want anything to do with her in the public eye.

Jay-Z to write autobiography

There could soon be a few choice words in the Beyonce-Jay-Z household. The richest man in rap has signed a megabucks deal to write a book on his life.
It promises to be a warts-and-all account, which won't impress his famously private wife.
Says our bookworm: "It's going to cover everything from his days on the streets as a drug dealer to his fairytale wedding to Bey.
"He'll also be revealing his rapping secrets." Source

Ok lets keep this real... Jay-Z is not going to reveal any secrets about his and Beyonce's marriage. All he will do is write one small paragraph about getting married and how amazing being married to Bey is...the rest of the time will be about rapping. Believe me!
