Current King and Queen of pop, Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z Zee were last week delivered devastating news by their private accountant: the couple, like many other Hollywood couples, have taken a giant loss in earnings in the past financial year, as a direct result of the global recession.Poor Beyonce bought in a meagre $90 million last year, down from $92 million in 2007. Husband Jay Z bought in a pathetic $72 million, down from $72.1 million the year before.The couple have asked for privacy during this tough time and were unavailable for interviews. But a spokesperson for the duo said these were certainly trying times and they were just glad they had each other. They have spent the past week since learning the news in a state of shock, consoling each other. It is said that Beyonce has broken down in tears on more than one occasion.
