Tired of hearing good news about Charice? Don’t be.
Here’s more:
• After wowing ‘em with her guestings on Ellen, Paul O’Grady, Oprah and in two shows mounted by David Foster first at the MGM Grand at Foxwood (Connecticut) and then in Las Vegas, Charice did it again last Sunday, June 1, during the Philippine Independence Day parade in New York City.
She came home briefly for the press launch of her eponymous debut album (by Star Records) Thursday last week and flew right back to the US with her mom Raquel.
During the two-hour parade, Charice rode on a float together with Dr. Vicki Belo and her beloved Hayden Kho, Randy Santiago, Fe delos Reyes and immigration lawyer Michael Gurfinkel (who comes to the rescue of Charice and her mom Raquel with their visa problems).
“Charice rendered five songs before a huge crowd that went wild before, during and after her every performance,” reported Funfare’s Big Apple correspondent Edmund Silvestre (of The Filipino Reporter). “And then, she was mobbed. Hindi matapus-tapos ang picture-taking.”
Babes De Gula-Harington said, “Charice is petite and looks much better in person. Magandang bata at fresh na fresh. Mukhang enjoy siya sa kaka-wave sa crowd habang nasa float.”
New York concert producer Baby Lantin said, “Iba ang power ng voice ni Charice, nangingibabaw talaga at malinis even if it was outdoor at kahit di ganoon kaganda ang sound system.”
