Bleu Is My State of Mind!
Bleu… It’s my favorite color, it’s the cutest name.
Perhaps it’s my next, dog or cat’s name.
Or maybe it’s my mood, or perhaps it’s just a name.
Or better yet. It’s my favorite Magazine. . . . Yeah that’s its claim to fame!
I get so mesmerized by my favorite Magazine. I love the photography, the creativity, the fashion features, the graphics, De’von Christopher… OOOPS, there I go again veering off right, when I should be going STRAIGHT ahead.
For some reason I always thought this was the lil magazine that could. However, my sincere apologies, because it’s became the magazine that should, could and has defied the odds. In my mind it picked up right where VIBE left off. Yeah, I must admit VIBE had me smitten for a while, but, BLEU has captured my heart, and guess what I’m in LOVE.
You know when times are hard, we finds ways to cut back. But, I took a risk, turned off a few lights, cut out a few premium cable channels, started drinking tap water (okay, lawd I do need my Dasani), starting bringing a lunch, and SHAJAMMM I was able to afford a subscription.
Founder and Publisher De’Von Christopher allows us to escape from our day to day issues and experience a new lifestyle, a fashion world we could only dream about, and a culture that is all our own.
So yeah, people often look at b~wood and say you look so Bleu all the time, and I politely say who knew Bleu could feel OH SO GOOD!

Kris Lawrence - Careless Whisper (Music and Lyrics)
Kris Lawrence - Careless Whisper
Lalalalalalalalala...ohhh!
I feel so unsure
As I take your hand and lead me to the dance floor
As the music dies
Something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen
And all it's sad goodbye
Chorus:
I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
Should have known better than to cheat a friend
Waste a chance that I've been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I dance with you, oh
Time can never mend
For careless whisper of a good friend
To the heart and mind
Ignorance is kind
There's no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you'll find
(Repeat Chorus)
Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We'd hurt each other with the things we want to say
We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But now who's gonna dance with me
Please stay
(Now that you're gone)
Now that you're gone, I feel so alone
(Now that you're gone)

Hayden Kho - Katrina Halili Video Scandal: The Senate Inquiry
Hayden Kho on Katrina Halili:
. "It's Katrina who taught me to use ecstacy."
. "I told her just one, but she insisted that I take two, since it won't have that much effect."
. "Everytime we see each other there was no conversation, it was all drugs and sex."
. "I have been undergoing physhotherapy to know why I do things such things and why men and women do such things."
Those were the strong words read and heard from Katrina Halili and Hayden Kho on the Senate inquiry hearing held yesterday, May 28, regarding the Hayden Kho - Katrina Halili sex scandal.
The hearing was done by the Senate Committees on Youth, Women, and Family Relations and on Public Information and Mass Media headed by Senator Jamby Madrigal.
Also asked to appear before the Senate but were not present on the preliminary hearing are Dra. Vicki Belo (but was represented by her lawyer Adel Tamano); talent manager and columnist Lolit Solis (but was represented by Atty. Noel Malaya); the said to be culprits in releasing the sex videos Erik Johnston Chua and Bistek Rosario ; and commercial model na si Maricar Reyes (who were with Hayden in other scandalous videos).
Hayden Kho doused with water at the Senate inquiry:
A sideshow came up when a purportedly enraged policeman-turned-tabloid writer named Abner Afuang doused a bottled water on Kho’s head at the start of the hearing and Abner Afuang was then ordered to be arrested by Senator Jamby Madrigal. As of this time, Afuang is still in the possession of Pasay Police station where the ex-policement spent the whole night.
Hayden Kho reiterates Katrina Halili taught him to use ecstasy:
Hayden said it was Katrina Halili who taught her to use ecstasy after he did liposuction on the actress two years ago.
Hayden also mentioned that Katrina told him to use drugs before they went to bed in Holiday Inn on 2007, "I told her just one, but she insisted that I take two, since it won't have that much effect." Hayden added.
An emotional Halili, however, denied ever using illegal drugs and influencing Kho to take the same. She said she felt betrayed after learning that the man she loved videotaped their most intimate moments together.
It was when Hayden challenged Katrina to undergo drug test using her hair and not through blood samples. "I challenge Ms. Halili to take the drug test using her hair." Hayden mentioned that the drugs can no longer be traced 8-days after its usage but you can still know if a person uses drugs through his/her hair even after several years.
Katrina's opening statement:
While Hayden resist to issue an opening lines, Katrina still, while in tears, managed to read what she believes everyone should know about her past with Hayden. And it reads:

America, A Nation Of Religious Illiterates
WHAT do President Obama and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld have in common? Both were embroiled in religious controversy during the last few weeks.
Some were scandalized to see Obama honored by Notre Dame, a Catholic university, given his views on abortion. Meanwhile, some objected to Rumsfeld's apparent use of biblical references in daily military-intelligence briefings, as was detailed in an article in GQ magazine.
Beyond the particulars of those events is a broader issue: The great bulk of the American public lacks the religious literacy to put these and many other controversies into a meaningful context.
Recent surveys of religious knowledge by the Gallup Organization and others have found that barely 10 percent of US teenagers can name the five major religions. About one-half of adults can name just one of the four gospels.
Many students apparently think that Joan of Arc is the wife of Noah. Only one-third could identify Jesus as the person who delivered the Sermon on the Mount. George Gallup once rightfully called America "a nation of biblical illiterates."
Many issues have religious dimensions, including Gov. Paterson's proposal to allow same-sex marriages, Mayor Bloomberg's support for stem-cell research, the debate over whether Islam is a violent or peaceful religion, the fate of Jerusalem in Mideast talks, voucher initiatives to allow public funding of religious schools and so on.
Americans casually throw about such phrases as "the golden rule," "Good Samaritan," "Promised Land," "olive branch" and "an eye for an eye" with little, if any, understanding of their biblical context.
While many know that the US Constitution bans the government from establishing a religion, fewer know that it also guarantees the free exercise of religion. Hardly anyone knows that the phrase "separation of church and state" doesn't appear in the Constitution; it is from a private letter written by Thomas Jefferson.
The inclusion of religious references in public pronouncements isn't new. For example, 46 years ago in his "Letter from a Birmingham Jail," the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. likened his presence in Birmingham to the Apostle Paul leaving Tarsus to preach "the gospel of Jesus Christ to the far corners of the Greco-Roman world."
Today, how many students understand the religious references in this seminal letter or appreciate the role of his faith in motivating his leadership of the civil-rights movement?
Just as E.D. Hirsch made the case in the '80s for a broader cultural literacy, one now can be made for taking steps to ensure a basic religious literacy, starting with our nation's schools. The outlines of what this religious literacy might look like are set forth in an interesting book by Boston University's Stephen Prothero, "Religious Literacy: What Every American Needs to Know -- and Doesn't."
Contrary to what some educators believe, the US Constitution doesn't ban the teaching of religion in public schools. In fact, the US Supreme Court has upheld the teaching of the Bible and other religious texts as long as they aren't taught in a sectarian or devotional way. In colloquial terms: "Teach it, don't preach it."
School-district officials are understandably shy about entering a broader debate on religion. But we can no longer pretend that this conflict-avoidance stance comes without a steep price.
James Madison spoke of "an intelligent and educated citizenry" as the cornerstone of self-government. When it comes to religion, that's not what we have now.
At a recent conference, I set forth options for starting down the path toward religious literacy, including the broader teaching of languages that make religious texts more accessible (including Hebrew and Arabic); the balanced re-insertion of religion into instruction about world and American history, culture, literature, geography and the visual and performing arts; the creation of religious charter schools, and an expansion of school-choice measures like vouchers and education tax credits.
Reasonable people can disagree on where we draw the line on these options, but standing still amid widespread ignorance isn't a real choice.
